New Case Worker Academy

Students

Academy is designed to kick-start careers by providing essential knowledge and skills for child welfare professionals. These pre-service trainings offer an intensive and curated series of courses to support the preparation of new child welfare workers.

Taking on a supervisory role requires a specific set of skills to be able to manage the team and workload effectively. Our supervisor academy supports the transition from worker to leader through a curated series of online, hybrid, and in-person trainings.

Child Welfare Scholars

Graduation Ceremony

The Title IV-E Child Welfare Scholars Program assists students pursuing a Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) degree at the University of Nevada, Reno with a focus of study in child welfare by providing a child welfare field placement, training, educational support, and a financial stipend (forgivable loan) in exchange for a year of employment with a Nevada public child welfare agency.
